Wednesday Journal

As rumors of autumn surface Vermont is experiencing a lovely sunny day. I am settled back in the recliner reading a new book: Small Church Essentials by Karl Vaters. Heres a quote you might find interesting – “Everyone in ministry should be in agreement that God’s ways are higher than ours, and that the church is his idea.” Hope you are having a blessed day!

Tuesday Journal

Today I am thinking about Bible study and how important it is. For many years I was hit or miss, sometimes deeply into it and other times being lax. Earlier this year I decided to be more disciplined about it and now I read a chapter every morning first thing. If I’ve done the math right it should take me about three years, which is probably doable in the time I have left.

Sunday Post

Good morning friends. Welcome to the day of rest, the day that the Lord has made and given us so we can rejoice and worship him together. May you be blessed with the company of at least a small handful of fellow believers with whom you can gather to worship and sit under the ministry of the Word on this day on which the Lord was raised.

Friday afternoon Journal

I’ve been sitting in the car out in the driveway this morning listening to the stream and doing some “tuning” – adjustments to the sound to make sure the level is consistent  from one song to the next and what is played sounds smooth and balanced. Yeah, I was singing along too. That was when it happened. I have a small garden, a couple of peppers, a tomato, a zucchini and a zinnia. You have to understand that zinnia were my moms favorite flower. The packet of seeds was like $5 and I wouldn’t have bought it except for that fact. Anyway, my seed order arrived and when I opened the packet there were five seeds in it. What, I thought to myself, could come from so few seeds, but I was wrong. To my surprise, not only did all the seeds come up but they grew into a huge bush covered with beautiful multi-color blossoms that have brought me joy all summer. There have been butterflies there off and on but as I sat there watching there was a movement in the blossoms. As I watched I realized it was a humming bird. I know it is a simple thing, but I was suddenly overcome. What underserved joy. I can’t explain it but there it was. I haven’t been running the stream full time yet (probably this weekend), but I already notice some listeners. Thanks! I’m going to see if I can create a way so you can say hello and report where your listening from. It would be so cool to know.

Thursday post

Good afternoon Vermont. Thanks for dropping by. I’m still working on getting the stream up and running, but things are getting closer. You may see some audio off and on until early next week.
